This policy explains what personal information the Ads Africa mobile app collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Ads Africa is operated by the Ads Africa team, contactable at adsafrica777@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, address, country and country of residence.
- Profile photo, if you choose to upload one.
- Ads you post: title, description, price, condition, category, country and the photos you upload.
- Offers and messages you send to other users about an ad.
- Reviews you write about other users.
- Reports you submit about an ad or a user, and the users you block.
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in information. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Usage information, such as which ads have been viewed and when, so we can show view counts to sellers.
- Technical information needed to run the service, such as device and error information recorded by our hosting provider.
We do not collect your precise GPS location, we do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your personal information.
How we use your information
- To create and run your account, and to sign you in.
- To publish your ads and show them to other users, together with your public profile.
- To let buyers and sellers contact each other about an ad.
- To review ads before publication and to act on reports, in order to keep the marketplace safe.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
What other people can see
Your ads, your public profile (name, photo, country and rating), and reviews about you are visible to other users of the app. Your email address, phone number and street address are shared only as needed for a transaction you take part in. Please do not put personal details you want kept private into ad photos or descriptions.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions) hosts our accounts, ads, images and messages.
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple, if you choose those sign-in options.
These providers store data on servers that may be outside your country, including in the United States. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to investigate fraud, abuse or safety issues.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Reports and moderation records may be kept for up to 12 months after they are resolved, so we can deal with repeat problems. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, your ads, your uploaded photos, your reviews and your transaction records. It cannot be undone. If you would rather we did it for you, email adsafrica777@gmail.com from your account's email address.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it. You can edit most of your details directly in Edit profile. For anything else, email us and we will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Ads Africa is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with Google Firebase, using access rules that limit who can read and write each record. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
